    Intown Infectious Diseases, LLC  is a practice specializing in the evaluation and treatment of illnesses caused by infectious agents.  At Intown Infectious Diseases, you, the patient, are our first priority.  We care about your concerns and issues.  Every patient is fully evaluated by a board certified doctor, and given the time and opportunity to discuss their concerns.  Our staff is always available for communications and questions.

I am Dr. Sophie Lukashok, the principal doctor at Intown Infectious Diseases, LLC.  I am board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and offer both primary general medical care, as well as specialty evaluation and treatment of infectious disease problems (see list at right).
In addition, Intown Infectious Diseases, LLC is approved to administer Yellow Fever vaccine. We can assist prospective travelers with required vaccines and medications prior to international travel as well as provide post-travel consultations for individuals returning home with medical issues.
Infectious disease consultations may require a referral from your primary care provider. Please check with your insurance carrier.

Infectious diseases are illnesses caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Examples of conditions that are commonly evaluated and treated by an infectious disease specialist are:
  • HIV infection and AIDS
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Hepatitis C
  • Recurrent infections – pneumonias, sinusitis, or urinary tract infections
  • Soft tissue and bone infections
  • Infections caused by unusual or difficult to treat pathogens such as Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) or pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Infections requiring treatment with intravenous antibiotics.
  • Infectious diarrhea due to Clostridium difficile
  • Parasitic intestinal infections
  • Post-surgical infections
  • Fever of unknown cause
  • Travel medicine and illnesses related to travel to developing countries
